Live Online Yoga: A Simple Way to Stay Consistent With Your Practice

Between work, family, and traffic, getting to a yoga class isn't always easy. Live online yoga brings real-time guidance to your living room.

Published · By Ruby

Sometimes the hardest part of practicing yoga is simply getting to class. Between work, family responsibilities, traffic, and everything else competing for your time, even something you know will help you feel better can become difficult to fit into your day.

Live online yoga offers another way to stay connected to your practice. You can step onto your mat at home, receive real-time guidance, and move alongside others without adding travel time to your schedule.

At Radiate With Ruby, my live Zoom classes are designed to make movement more accessible while still offering the encouragement, structure, and personal connection of practicing together.

What Is Live Online Yoga?

Live online yoga is a class taught in real time through Zoom. Unlike a prerecorded video, everyone arrives at the same time and moves through the practice together.

You still receive verbal guidance, thoughtful sequencing, breath cues, and options for modifying poses. You also have a specific time set aside for yourself, which can make it much easier to follow through than telling yourself you will practice whenever you find a free moment.

It is the convenience of practicing at home with the support and energy of a live class.

The Benefits of Practicing Yoga From Home

It makes consistency more realistic

A regular yoga practice does not have to require a long commute or a large block of free time. When class is available from home, you can spend less time preparing and traveling and more time actually practicing.

This can be especially helpful during a busy workweek, when getting to a studio may not feel realistic but taking 40 or 45 minutes for yourself still is.

You can practice in a comfortable, familiar space

There is something special about rolling out your mat in your own space. You can choose the room, adjust the temperature, keep your favorite props nearby, and settle in without worrying about what anyone else is doing.

For newer students, practicing from home may also feel less intimidating. You are free to pause, modify, or rest whenever your body needs it.

You still receive live guidance

Online does not have to mean practicing alone. During a live class, I guide you through each movement and help you stay connected to your breath, alignment, and intention.

You do not need to remember a sequence or decide what to do next. All you need to do is arrive, listen to your body, and allow yourself to be guided.

It creates accountability

It is easy to save a yoga video and promise yourself you will do it later. A scheduled live class gives your practice a place on your calendar.

Knowing that your teacher and fellow students will be there can provide the gentle accountability you need to stop postponing the time you have set aside for yourself.

Two Ways to Practice Live With Radiate With Ruby

My weekly online classes offer two different ways to move, strengthen, and reconnect from home.

Rise & Energize

Wednesdays at 7:00 AM | 40 minutes

Rise & Energize is an energizing morning flow designed to help you begin the day feeling awake, strong, and focused. The class blends dynamic movement, strength-building poses, and core work to create energy before the rest of your day begins.

It is a great choice if you want to move before work, establish a more consistent morning routine, or start your day by doing something supportive for yourself.

Strong & Centered

Thursdays at 6:00 PM | 45 minutes

Strong & Centered is a strength-focused yoga class that combines traditional yoga with Pilates-inspired core and glute work, balance exercises, squats, lunges, holds, and plank variations.

This class is designed to help you build strength while staying connected to your breath and body. It is a supportive way to challenge yourself, release the workday, and finish feeling grounded and accomplished.

What Do You Need for an Online Yoga Class?

You do not need a home studio or a large amount of space. A small, clear area where you can comfortably place your yoga mat is enough.

Before class, gather:

• A yoga mat

• Water

• Yoga blocks, if you have them

• Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely

• A phone, tablet, or computer with Zoom

Try to position your device where you can see and hear clearly without having to move it throughout class. Then give yourself a few minutes to settle in before we begin.

Is Live Online Yoga Right for You?

Live online yoga may be a good fit if you:

• Want to practice consistently without traveling to a studio

• Have a busy or unpredictable schedule

• Feel more comfortable moving in your own space

• Want the structure of a scheduled class

• Prefer live guidance over following a prerecorded video

• Live outside Monmouth or Ocean County but still want to practice with me

Whether you are newer to yoga or already have an established practice, you are always encouraged to work at your own pace and choose the options that feel right for your body.

Make Space for Yourself, Wherever You Are

Yoga does not have to happen in a studio to be meaningful. Your practice can begin right where you are, in the space you already have and within the time available to you.

Live online classes make it possible to move, breathe, build strength, and reconnect with yourself without leaving home. If you have been looking for a realistic way to return to your mat or become more consistent, I would love to welcome you to class.
